Stir Fried Kailan

I can eat bucket loads of green leafy vegetables. There is just something about chewing into the crunchy fibrous sticks of vegetables that is so good for the soul and the health. It helps that cooking these vegetables are a breeze - some simple seasonings are sufficient to liven up the dish. I usually rely on garlic and soy or vegetarian oyster sauce for my leafy vegetables (I'm boring like that) but that predictability allows me to enjoy platefuls of good green stuff.

Stir Fried Kailan

4 cloves garlic, peeled and minced finely
300g kailan, washed and cut into desired size
2 teaspoon toasted seasame oil
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
1 teaspoon soy sauce or to taste

Method:

1) In a wok, add the oil and the minced garlic. Saute under low heat until the garlic turns a light brown.
2) Add the kailan and the seasonings. Saute until the kailan attains a darker green colour and softens a little.
3) Remove from heat and serve with rice.
